Patient Entry
Upon entering our chiropractic clinic, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. We will request that you complete our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.
Consultation
Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Michael Swartztrauber to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Swartztrauber to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine how chiropractic care can best meet your goals.
Examination
After your consultation, Dr. Swartztrauber will perform a complete chiropractic examination designed to discover what you have, how it's affecting you and what might have lead to or is perpetuating it. We test your nerves, joints, muscles, ligaments, flexibility, posture and determine how everything is (or isn't) functioning together.
Imaging and Other Tests
Depending on your specific condition, we may order X-rays, MRI's, CT's or bloodwork. Imaging and bloodwork is not routinely ordered but can be of immense help in selected cases.
Report of Findings
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, Dr. Swartztrauber will give you a detailed explanation of all findings and answer any questions including:
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
- What will my treatment cost?
After reviewing your health history, goals, and examining you, Dr. Swartztrauber will discuss recommendations and advise you if your condition requires care with other providers. He'll also provide the best Treatment and Wellness program for your needs.
Treatment
At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you can choose to experience your first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue techniques. Treatment is interactive so that treatment is customized and delivered in a way just right for you.
Wellness Program
Many chiropractic patients choose to return on a semi-regular basis to keep a chronic condition managed or to undo the slips, trips, bumps, bruises and falls of everyday life that is known to accumulate and cause spinal decay (arthritis).
While it's probably a wise plan, just like getting your teeth cleaned or your eyes checked, the Wellness Program is not required and completely up to you to take advantage of or not.
